• Provide consultation services for new or existing units
• Help users to interpret NJDEP regulations (N.J.A.C. Title 7, Chapter 28 - Radiation Protection Programs)
• Semi-annual inspections and surveys of all units
• Registration of units with NJDEP
• Liason between users and NJDEP

The University falls under the jurisdiction of the NJDEP (New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection).  The NJDEP's Bureau of Radiological Health governs the use of radiation producing machinery.  As x-ray users, we must follow the rules and regulations set forth in N.J.A.C.
