| The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission
and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection require that all radioactive
materials be secured against unauthorized removal. All radioactive
materials must be secured or under the immediate control and surveillance
of the user.
Rutgers Environmental Health & Safety performs radiation safety services for Rutgers University and the Piscataway, New Brunswick campuses of UMDNJ-RWJMS. At each facility a Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) guides the radiation safety program. The Rutgers University RSC and the UMDNJ-RWJMS RSC have each drafted a policy establishing how radioactive materials will be secured on each campus. The governing security policy depends on the campus/building you are working in, rather than your particular affiliation. |
