General Information
The
OSHA Laboratory Standard (29 CFR 1910.1450) requires
employers to establish work procedures and control measures
for employees performing laboratory work with select
carcinogens, reproductive toxins, and substances with
a high degree of acute toxicity. Chemicals meeting the
criteria are referred to as particularly hazardous substances.
REHS has
identified 35 common chemicals that meet the definition
of particularly hazardous substances, and has established
control measures to protect laboratory workers and comply
with the provisions of the Laboratory Standard. |
