Biosafety Committee
The National Institute
of Health and Centers for Disease Control (NIH/CDC) require
an institutional Biosafety Committee for any organization that
receives federal funding to perform work with biohazardous agents
or recombinant DNA molecules. The Committee must approve all
work with these materials and provide oversight of the University
Biosafety Officer.
The Committee meets
several times throughout the year and reviews many protocols.
Biosafety related forms, policies and guidance are approved
by the Committee before distribution to the University Community.
